Music and Sound Arts of Jacob Walker
Of all the arts that Jacob has explored most in his life, with only the exception of the creation of ideas and actions for the art of education (which fits within several categories here), music has been the largest part of his life. Just as all of these 10 major categories can blend with each other, so will these sub-categories:
Songwriting
Jacob has been a songwriter since an early age. His mother inspired him with her writing, and he started singing songs. Most people probably make up songs as kids, and it would be wonderful if more of these would come into reality for a more extended period of time. But, it seems that just as there are forces within us that naturally wish to release music, there are also forces that wish to stop it. In Jacob's case, it was the fact that he couldn't sing very well or on key (for nearly 20 years :-), and that he really didn't know anything about music.
Through continual choice to keep learning, and practicing, and not giving up when he was literally told to "shut up" by others around him, he kept writing songs. While many of these were improvised, and have been lost to his memory, some were captured, and refined to where they could be written out in a basic chord structure, and all of them are available here.
Albums & Musicianship
Lost Songs and We're Human are two albums that have been within Jacob's mind for a long time. They will be completed, whether solo, or with a group and posted here. Or their remains as unfinished work will remain.

Solo Jacob Albums & Projects
Jacob started as a solo performer, and once again is a solo performer. At this time, he is unsure of where his next musical path will lead.

- Primal - Early Recording
Deep Reason
Deep Reason was a band that primarily consisted of Jacob Walker (vocals, songwriting, guitar) and Dwight Kuzmin (keyboards). During its brief existence it also had Ed Whiting (bass) and Andy Allen (drums), in its lineup, although most performances were with just Jacob and Dwight. Because of deep artistic differences, as well as life changes, the band dissolved.
Old Mother Ripley
While the future is never known, at the moment Old Mother Ripley is not really in existence. The group consisted of Jacob Walker (vocals, songwriting, guitar), Duane Healing (bass, guitars and other stuff) and Michael Martin (drums & cello). The group started at a party at Jacob's house in 2005, and disbanded in the spring of 2007.

Hectate's Riddle
Jacob started jamming with Hectate's Riddle in the winter of 2007. It is possible that several of his songs will be recorded under their name, or with them under his name.
Archive of Rare Recordings
I have placed online in the Archive of Rare Recordings music that if it wasn't placed online here would most likely be lost to the world. I hope I am not infringing upon anyone copyright with these, and if I am, just let me know and I'll take them down. But sometimes it is easier to get forgiveness than to take the time to get permission. So I'm acting unilaterally. (That worked for President Bush right? :-)

I have placed online a page of Links to Interesting Sounds and Songs, which I have discovered over time on the Internet. These sounds and songs are being stored here so that they could be sampled some day, and possibly used in music that Jacob creates.
