Philosophy

It is interesting that everything here is really just an intellectual construct. It is only the meaning we give the symbols in our mind that makes these patterns "something".

Further humans (as well as most animals) have a mental construct of ownership, which we now try to extend to the symbols that appear in the symbols underlied by the numbers that are based on Ons and Offs.

But, I too, buy into this notion of ownership, which begets a notion of trade, which begets a notion of money. And all of these notions, which are so natural to most of us, are not quite congruent with the prevailing view of this world that is based more upon information than based upon tangible goods.

So I have held tight to these symbols that were created by what I perceive to be me after I perceived and cognated similar symbols, standing on the shoulders of others. Maybe I have held tight because I don't want to let go of my perceived control, which really is only a weak influence at best. Or maybe I have held tight to some "dream" of trading the intellectual constructs for the commoditized spendable power of money. Or maybe, my ego wants others to adulate me with praise and idolization.

Yet as I contemplate these underlying reasons more, they become less appealing. Each is only a blip of the moment that my lifetime will be compared to the spance of time that will come after my consciousness is no longer in existence in a way that it recognizes itself now.

So I am slowly pulling away from the fear that the unknown of death and infinity place in front of me, and that of losing a semblance of control. I am opening myself up to the idea, that if I horde whatever it is that I have, I will never have anything more than what I have to myself, and that is selfish and reduces the potential and probability that these could have some longer term impact upon whatever it is that humanity will become someday.

Yet, there may be strategic value in making property of the intellectual, just ask William Gates the Third. But should I devote so much time to attempting to control what I create, that I take away from the time I am using to create? I have enough money to survive, and as long as I'm slightly careful, I should have enough of this tool throughout my life.

What I believe to be of more strategic value to the goals that I have now chosen to pursue, and the definition of success that I now accept, is to build my personal brand identity, along with those of the concepts that I help create. This can be leveraged to get my ideas shared further, accepted more, and build the opportunities that will allow me to make the money that I need such that it is sufficient for my life, with a few personal pleasures, and enough to use as a tool to further share that which I have been part of. It will also help placate my ego's desire to have recognition.
